Learn to speak basic English for everyday family life

The Live Well in Harrow programme is designed to help people who have come to live in Harrow to improve their English language whilst learning about life in the Borough.

This course is for you if you speak and understand very little or no English. On this course you will begin to speak basic English in everyday life and be able to talk about your family using a range of key words for health and wellbeing and your family. You will gain confidence in simple reading and writing tasks for everyday life and you will learn study skills and find out about further opportunities for learning English.

Improve your English to get involved in community life in Harrow

The Live Well in Harrow programme is designed to help people who come to live in Harrow to improve their English language and learn about community life in the Borough.

This course is for you if you can already speak and understand basic English. You will improve your speaking and listening skills with a focus on community matters and life in Harrow. You will develop your skills and confidence in reading and writing for everyday life while learning about Harrow’s services such as transport, travel, Council services, health & medical care, schools and education, volunteering, recreation and leisure activities, and shopping.

Basic ICT Skills for beginners

This basic ICT skills course is for people who have little or no experience of using computers and would like to learn in an informal friendly class.

By the end of the course you will be able to use a computer to create and store simple word processing documents, search the internet, write and send emails and follow basic safety and security practices to stay safe online. You will also learn how to access Harrow Council Services using your ‘My Harrow’ online account.
